Have you made Jesus Lord of your life? Or have you ever prayed for Jesus to come into your heart, or asked Jesus to come into your life, or even accepted Jesus, or said the sinners prayer, or did you ever pray to Jesus for forgiveness of your sin? Then you must read this article.
The main reason is that Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” —Matt. 7:21 (NIV) — Jesus makes it very clear that not everyone who calls Him Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven!
Therefore, if you call yourself a follower of Jesus it is incumbent upon you and necessary to listen to Jesus’ words, take them to heart, and believe Him. For Jesus is truly saying that some believers will be cast away on the last day.
Moses reminds us that we must listen to the Messiah when he said, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.” —Deuteronomy 18:15
Due to the imperative nature of Moses command the term ‘must listen’ also implies that we should do as the Messiah says. After all, when Moses commanded the people it was often said of them, “and the Israelites did according to all that Moses had commanded.” —Numbers 2:33
If you are now saying I don’t believe what has been said above; then how can you know that you’re not be one of those who will be cast away? The reason I ask is because if you are saying that you don’t believe Jesus. Then Jesus will certainly cast you away because He’s is the one we’re supposed to believe! It’s not me that you don’t believe, it’s Jesus. He said it and I quoted it. Therefore since Jesus spoke it we need to believe it!
I know that’s tough to swallow, but remember the narrow way is hard and that brings us to Part II where we will examine the broad path and the narrow path.
In Part II we will examine Matthew 17:13-14.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.“ — Mt 7:13-14 (NIV)
